The Piano Quintet in C Major, Opus Posth., was published after the Medtner's death. He worked on sketches of the work from 1903 until its completion in 1949. Medtner considered it the ultimate summary of his musical life and it contains some of his finest and most spiritual music.
I am not a Christian, but the Bible quotes Medtner put in the music did help me understand this composition of its sincerity and spirituality.
